Ok, so I really did misunderstand what charles8851 was saying when mentioning consensus in relation to common people. I thought the connection intended was suppose to be one of mis-use by popular use. Just my brain jumping to an obvious conclusion. Lots of specialty terms are mis-used in general use. But charles8851 was trying to say that the intent of consensus can be conserved by it being broadly adopted. A means that could prevent mis-use. That seems to resonate with the use of ‘transparent.’ I’d personally still like to see how an unstained consensus is transmitted to all these new people in a way that prevents distortions like the one I had here mistaking something that wasn’t for something that was and not be called evil for it.
